These Fantastic Santa Fe Hotels Are a Serious Bargain
One of the most upscale destinations in the Southwest, Santa Fe nevertheless offers a broad spectrum of accommodations in every price range. Some of the best deals in the region are in small B&Bs with cozy, simple rooms. Other properties offering great values include several well-kept chain properties located along Santa Fe's rather ugly Cerrillos Road—what these hotels lack in curb appeal they often make up for in spacious rooms, free perks, and appealing amenities. Finally, if you're willing to stay a bit outside of town in one of the smaller communities within an hour's drive, you can potentially save money and enjoy a quiet, scenic setting. These clean and nicely maintained lodging options all have at least entry-level cheap rooms priced well below the area's average rate.

Among the dozen-or-so chain properties out on busy Cerrillos Road, this clean and comfortable Best Western stands out for its very reasonable rates and excellent amenities, including a very pleasant indoor pool and hot tub. Even the upgraded spa Jacuzzi suites here are priced far below what you'd pay for comparable accommodations in town.
Santa Fe Sage Inn & Suites
Why it made the list
Over the past several years, the management behind what had been a dull budget motel has taken big steps to transform it into one of the city's most appealing and affordable lodgings. Next to a Whole Foods and a short walk from the many restaurants, galleries, and attractions in the trendy Railyard District, Santa Fe Sage Inn & Suites has cheerfully designed, if somewhat compact, rooms as well as a nice little bar and restaurant and an attractive pool. The Plaza is just a 15-minute walk, and the inn offers a free shuttle service there and back.
