I have another question, does anyone know how to go about getting a cheap flight from Kilimanjaro airport to Accra, Ghana in West Africa? Should I buy the flight at the airport? Online quotes are $1000 for a flight near New Years Eve. ouch! Is that what I should expect for airfare within Africa during the holidays? Thanks in advance!

Totally forget buying a ticket at the airport! Also local fares can be very expensive. Ethiopian is the airline to use via ADD. They have a lot of promotions from their US office. Try their site, not sure of the URL.
Anyway you would probably have to check the schedules with care, Kilimanjaro(JRO) to ADD I think is just 2 x week. Not an easy route.
