Any Beirut recommendations?

I'm off to Lebanon for a couple of weeks soon. Most of our time will be spent on a very small group food tour, run by a foodie friend of mine, she's Lebanese but grew up in USA and lives now in the UK.

But I also have added 3 nights in Beirut at the end and would welcome recommendations. We have the hotel books so looking for recommendations on great food and also great things to do.
