I was in Saint Louis one week ago and stayed at l'Appel du desert , check appeldudesert.com . For me that was an excellent experience: extraordinary place, well organised, wonderful rooms, friendly staff, delicious food, everything was perfect.Hassane the guide is really helpful and really know the desert in Mauritania , fantastic. It has been a holiday I have a long time been dreaming of. I will recommend this place to other people, it was simply great.

You sure get around, Peter. I'm happy for you that you can travel so extensively.

There must be a daily shuttle between Luang Prabang, Laos and Dakar, Senegal. I find it hard to believe that any traveler would be in Laos and Senegal in the same week, but then again I did a business trip from NY to Singapore to Amsterdam to Caracas in one week, so I guess Peter's trip is possible, but I remain dubious.
