My dh and I are planning a trip to southern Israel and northern Egypt.. Both because of cost and children (we have an older toddler and by the time we go we might either have a baby or young toddler), we were thinking either apartment or camping. Any suggestions?

Our best trip ever - in Morocco

probably gonna nix the camping.....I know of vrbo and house swapping (which probably wouldnt work for us). my problem with vrbo is what is southern israel and what is the best location and price? what other sites are out there?
What exactly do you mean by "southern Israel" ? Eilat only ? Mitzpe Ramon ? Beersheva ? The Dead Sea ? ......
Tel aviv and Jerusalem ish area
We plan on going to Cairo too
Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are NOT southern Israel! They are both very central, and probably 75% of all accomodations in Israel are in those 2 cities.
When are you going and what is your budget? Apartment rentals are not cheap though likely cheaper than hotels? If your trip coincides with any national or religious holidays or the summer vacation period, rental prices go way up.
Search VRBO.com for apartments in Tel Aviv and jerusalem.
We rented a lovely one bedroom in Jerusalem for under $100 per day.
my problem is I just dont know cities...which are ones to look for?
thanks! =)
Start with Jerusalem and Tel Aviv
Listings may also include the name of a neighborhood (like "German Colony", in Jerusalem, or Florentin, in Tel Aviv) but they should also list the city itself.
They are the 2 biggest cities and the ones with the best public transportation options.
Use Google maps if you find the name of another city and you will see its location. Come back here and ask if you're not sure if the location is a good one
