Hi all
My husband is going to drive from Johannesburg to Durban next week for business and would like to stop along the way for a hike of several hours. Can you suggest any places that would be pretty accessible? He's in great shape, and an experienced hiker. We live in Virginia-so have no knowledge of the area at all.
Thanks!
Day hike somewhere between Johannesburg and Durban

Assuming an overnight stay? The drive is pretty long, so it plus a "several hours" hike is probably not practical in a day.
That said, we visited Cathedral Peak a few years ago - absolutely stunning country, not that far from the N3 freeway (maybe an 60-80 min) through gorgeous country. The Cathedral Peak Hotel is quite comfortable. http://www.cathedralpeak.co.za/
Hi again everyone
So I got it a bit wrong-he's actually driving from Durban to Johannesburg... And he'll have half a day for hiking, stay overnight there, and then have most of the next day before driving on. Is there any chance at all with a schedule like that that he could see any animals? Maybe a game park?
Thanks again!
