Hi... we are a couple (in our mid 30's) and we are off to Africa in November to help with a friends Charity for street kids in Lusaka, Zambia. We have to be in Zambia on 21st November, but we will arrive in Africa on November 9th... We want to do a padi diving course in the best lodge (thinking small, independant, luxury but not stuffy, etc...) in Mozambique... any suggestions???
We then want to see Lake Malawi (not necessarily for diving though), have read about Kaya Mawa lodge, again, need some suggestions from anyone who has been there.. Understand some of the travelling is a bit tough, we are not bothered about that at all... just want to see the best of these places before getting our hands dirty in Lusaka! All suggestions appreciated....

I stayed at the Livingstonia Beach Hotel in Malawi -- its right on the lake and has decent snorkeling (for a lake -- it does not compare to an ocean reef). The snorkeling may be better, though, at the southern end of the lake near the national park.
Also, its only a short, charter flight from Lilongwe (Malawi) to Mfuwe, Zambia, the gateway to South Luangwa NP, an excellent safari destination.
