I have 10 days from the beginning of January before I have to be back at work, and enough frequent flier miles for a trip to central /western Africa. Ghana comes to my mind first as being a friendly (and safe) country. Destinations can be anywhere Lufthansa flies to in the region. Any recommendations? I'm not at all prepared and are looking for a quiet and nice place to stay
Thanks!
Ghana coming January (or somewhere else?)

I went there twice...Dec 2003/Jan 2004 and Dec 2004/Jan 2005 and loved it. I highly recommend it. Type in "Ghana" in the search box and I've written quite a bit about it. Sandye has also written quite a bit. I helped her with the planning of her family trip to Ghana and she's written a long story on Ghana that will be quite helpful. Happy Travels!
I visited Ghana in 2000, and it was a very easy travel destination (widespread use of English (I believe its one of the national languages), excellent infrastructure and interesting sites). I didn't spend any time on the beach, but I understand that they are quite nice.
Lufthansa may also fly to Cameroon, a former German colony, and while I haven't visited there, yet, it looks very interesting, too.
Unfortunately I can't go there this January any more, but it's on my list for this year (The miles are only good until July). Thanks, I'm already reading your posts
