Hi all.
Does anyone have any experience and thoughts about the dive operation/dive master at Medjumbe Island resort? Is it well run? Good boats? Good rental equipment? Helpful and able dive master?
Thanks for any help.

Hi LAJohnny, I haven't done diving at Medjumbe but did do snorkeling and had a great time. The flippers and snorkel we used were in good condition. We didn't go out on the boat as we did the snorkeling from the shore around a rocky outcrop. All the water equipment I saw was in good order. Not sure if you know but the tides are pretty drastic at Medjumbe and when the tide does go out that the waterline is about 800m from the lodge. Hope this helps
Thanks for the info. Always a good sign if the equipment is in good repair. I had heard the tide swings are pretty extreme. One of the things working against several places we've investigated.
Again, thanks for the help.
Another island resort we visited was Matemo - www.matemo.com
Only did snorkeling here but it was great. The tides weren't as drastic here. The water close to the lodge was just very shallow.
The unspoilt coral reefs and outcrops surrounding Matemo Island are one of Mozambique's best-kept secrets.
