Trip Report morocco on all types of transportation

we just returned from a trip to morocco.9 days starting in casablanca. we didn't want to rent a car and have responsibility for driving, reading maps and looking out the window at the amazing scenery. so we made a great trip combining trains, driver with a car, grand taxis, taxis, trams and camels. as it turned out, there was flooding in the land near the desert outside erfoud, so we were really glad we were with someone who knew the roads really well and could get us safely around the high waters.

day 1 casablanca to rabat. we took the train directly from the airport to rabat. easy.
day 2 rabat , the small medina, roman ruins, seaside areas. new modern tram,
taxis around the city
day 3 grand taxi to fez, stopping in meknes and volubilis. all great
day 4 taxis around the city.the medina in fez. awesome . ruins high up over the city, old jewish area
day 5 private driver for 4 days, in a four wheel drive suv. intense beautiful drive to the desert
near rissani
day 6 seeing the market and village of rissani, overland to the desert near merzouga
camels over dunes to wool tents for an overnight stay
day 7 camels back. intense driving again to the dadas gorge, through beautiful scenery and
villages
day 8 beautiful drive through the high atlas mountains to marrakesh
day 9 marrakesh souks. awesome .train back to rabat. very comfortable and on time. seats easily available.
day 10 fly home
