We want to add a few more nights to our trip next August and are thinking of Mozambique after 17 nights in Zimbabwe, flying from JNB. We want to spend more time in Southern Africa but don't want more days on safari because of the cost. I had looked at Cape Town but August is their rainy month and we get enough rain here in Vancouver.

Hi
Having recently spent a month in Mozambique supporting a runner doing the entire length of the country for charity, and also updating my Globetrotter Guide to Mozambique, I feel qualied and happy to comment.
I can hightly recommend that you look up www.barraresorts.com and book a stay for 2 nights at Barra Lodge and also 2 nights at Pomene Lodge. I have stayed at both and they are well-established and well managed and you can fly in from Joburg.
Pomene Lodge, particularly, is truly special with a setting unmatched anywhere on the Moz coast.
