Has anyone done this trip? Can you offer company suggestions? How was travel through Sudan? I am looking into doing a trip like this next summer (2010) and was starting myresearch. It seems like it will beeasier to thispart with a company rather than on my own. I've checked out Nomad and Intrpid websites already so any others would be helpful.
Thanks in advance

Check out Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree. There is good information there about these overland trips. It really sounds like fun. If I were younger, I'd definitely do it!
I am sorry I can't offer any advice about companies that do such a trip, but the first thing that got my attention was
"I am looking into doing a trip like this next summer"
Have you looked at what the temps are likely to be???
You might want to look into Dragoman Overland(http://www.dragoman.com/). They do a lot of overland trips through Africa.
thanks everyone for you replies... grcxx3, i live in bakersfield, ca - where it never dips below 110 in the summer! i love the heat.
You are a braver soul than me, producerkoof!!!!!
I HATED returning to Cairo in August. The first year we returned we had 10 straight days over 105+ temps. I did my best not to leave the apartment!
I was in Egypt last August, and while I wouldn't recommend it to anyone (and wouldn't do it again myself), if there's anyone who could stand the heat, it's someone from the Central Valley of California!!
