We have decided on a last minute trip to Namibia, we will start in Cape Town and would like to drive up to Namibia and return to Capetown, we have 3 weeks for the trip but would if possible like to spend the last week in South Africa. Can anyone reccomend a good itinerary for this circuit.
We will leave on the 5th of October, what kind of weather can we expect?

I would suggest you contact Gemma at Discover Namibia Tours (http://www.discover-namibia-safari.net/namibia_botswana_vicfalls_selfdrive_accommodated.html ) . She arranges self drive tours and is a wealth of information. We have just booked a 2 weeks trip with her (starting in October). We got her details on this forum where she was highly recommended. I gather she is now based in the Cape somewhere, so she is well suited to help you.

What a fabulous trip report, I'm sure I can get all the info I need from it.
Here is the link to a more recent trip report from August 2011 - we started in Cape Town and self-drove into Namibia and then returned to Cape Town - about a five-week self-drive. It is a very similar trip to the one that Elizabeth has provided the link to, but more recent - with a few changes in accommodation. This trip from Cape Town into Namibia and back is a favourite - we have done it several times. CR

We won't have long enough for that on our upcoming October trip, but now that I've got a good pal in Hout Bay, I can plan to go back so we can do a Namibia adventure!
