My husband & I, both active retirees are planning a trip next year to either the British Virgin Islands or the Seychelles & can't make our minds up. we do like luxury hotels, medium sized, good food & be able to see some wildlife. Do you consider the Seychelles to be too touristy or not?.
Any help would be appreciated in choice of place & hotels. We would want to stay on two islands.

Where are you traveling from?
It's a very long haul from the States; easier if from Europe. Why few Americans visit; more Europeans, of course.
Can't comment on the BVI, but I sure didn't find the SEZ touristy. But then, aren't we all tourist when we visit anywhere? You won't find glitz/neon... it ain't Las Vegas, Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii or some cruise ship. Way more laid-back.
Not much in the way of luxury in the BVI's, which we know well, apart from a couple of resorts on Virgin Gorda (Little Dix & Bitter End). Food is unlikely to be stellar, even there. Peter Island gets pretty mixed reviews. We considered the Seychelles for beach time after an upcoming safari, until I read somewhere on these boards that you can see everything you will see there on VG. Did read a very enthusiastic trip report on traveltalk.com about Caneel Bay, St. John, USVI -- fabulous photos. Of course wild life pretty much under the sea!
Sorry -- I meant traveltalkonline.com...
