Ohhhh, I'm so happy and excited. Started planning my return trip to East Africa. Rwanda for a couple gorilla treks and Kenya for about 9 or 10 days.
Even though it's not happening until 2015, it makes my heart beat a little faster just to start planning.
Taking 4 first-timers with...DH and my best friend and her 2 sons.
And so happy to be working with Sandi (Africa Serendipity) to put it all together.

The Heart is HAPPY!!!

Enjoy the anticipation. It's almost as good as the actual trip
Plenty of time to save up.
That sums it up beautifully...the
is happier when planning an African Safari.
You could be the most organized Africa traveler ever, planning now for 2015! Enjoy the planning - I agree that is at least half the fun
I'm leaving for Rwanda on August 8th and have been planning it for a year! Can't wait to get there, but the planning has been fun too!
Femi - you're correct, the anticipation and planning is almost as good as the actual trip.

Lynn - precisely why the planning is starting so early
KathBC -
Cateyes - Don't know about being the most organized. There's some folks on here that are pretty darn on top of it. But, I do alright.
Ngong - Have a fantastic trip. Will look forward to a TR and photos.
Congrats! I know the feeling. I just booked my first safari for me and three friends after months of research. Except now that all the questions have been answered and the deposit in, the flights booked...the wait is HORRIBLE! I don't know how I'll get through 7 months!
amyb we all know what you're going thru!

So keep coming here to read trip reports, pick up a book set in Africa and even start thinking about safari #2. Cause no matter what you think or say...there will be another!
amyb - I know exactly how you feel. First safari was booked 8 months in advance and that was a painful wait. 3 years will be pure torture, but it is SO worth the wait. And KathBC is very right, I read a few books set in Africa prior to the first trip. Just read Daphne Sheldrick's autobiography, "Love, Live, and Elephants...An African Love Story". It was GREAT!!! I didn't want it to end.
