I'm considering volunteering for about 6 weeks in Ghana and was wondering if anyone has done anything like this or has been to this part of the country? I'm considering a company called cross-cultural solutions. Does anyone know of this? Or can you recommend alternatives?

I hope you'll find some advice on this board but must admit that I can't recall any posts from posters here about such an experience (not that this precludes them having had it).
Have you posted too on the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree Africa Board forum? There are many younger posters there who have spent many months in Africa including volunteering. I know there are a few who have spent a lot of time in Ghana and might be able to help.
