Hello,
Well, I travelled in Jordan a long time ago, but i would take a bus to Madaba and see th chusch with one of the oldest mosaic floors in the world, stay 2 nights with a day trip to mount Nebo where Moses saw the promised land, then to Petra for 2/3 nights, your kid should enjoy this, Aqaba on the beach for diving, 4 or 5 days, kids love beaches while u dive. At the Dead Sea look out for Tristram's Starling (used to be called Tristram's Grackle which is a much better name IMO).
Thanks

I loved my time in Jordan. We spent two weeks there visiting Perts, Wadi Rum, the various crusader castles, and Jerash as well as Mt. Nebo, etc.
Well, it's unthinkable to me that you'd go to Jordan and not visit Petra. I'd recommend three nights there. I thought the Dead Sea was rather boring, and there are plenty of good mosaics in Madaba besides the map in the church.
