I have just agreed to travel to Doha, Qatar for a week with my company, based in Canada. I will leave Thursday evening and arrive Friday. Work is Sun-Thu. I've never been to the Middle East and as a 30ish woman who will be traveling without my husband, but with some co-workers, I'm unsure of protocol.
I will get some cultural education before I leave, but am wondering primarily:
1. Can women wear dresses (knee length) or skirts at night when going out to nightclubs? Or do we have to cover up all day and all night?
2. Can you suggest a camel ride/desert tour that I could do after work or on my free day?
3. Any definite must-see sites?
I've read that Doha isn't a tourist centre, which is fine, since I am there for work. But, I'd love to go out some night for dancing, drinks or pool party atmosphere while in the desert.
Any tips would be much appreciated. Cheers!
