Am thinking of paying the extra $$ to fly Air France Premium Economy. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with this seat category?
My biggest question is whether the seats all offer feet-up comfort? I don't need a flat seat, but really like to travel with my feet up a bit.
I have flown British Air's Premium Economy and enjoyed it very much.
Feet were up and the cabin section was very small-- so very calm and quiet.
Has anyone flown both so that they can tell me how they compare?
Any info much appreciated!!

It will depend on the aircraft that you use. Here's Seatguru's 777-300er as an example.

Note that they are one of the few airlines that actually have wider seats in Premium Economy. I recently flew UA's Premium Economy and the seat width was the same as economy.
Just to be clear Rasta, there is a big difference between what should be called something like "Economy Plus" vs "Premium Economy". The first is nothing more than a regular seat with extra legroom. It is not sold as a separate cabin, but either sold as an add-on or given to elites. The second is what Air France's product is and is sold as a separate product.
With regards to the query... It is a good product. The service is decent, the cabin quiet, the extra width is nice, and the shell-style construction means that you don't have anyone intruding into your space. However, the seats are on the hard side, and I don't think the "recline" really works that well. All in all, it is certainly a nice step up from economy, but I would have to give the edge to the BA product due to the comfort when reclined.
As for feet up, you have a footrest, but your feet are still pointed toward the ground, there is not enough room to stretch them out straight in front of you.
Have you considered any of the foot rest products on the market? Such as these:

I don't know when you're thinking of buying - we are flying PE on Air France in April to Tahiti out of LAX. I'll post a review when we get back. Hope you'll do the same if you fly before then!
thanks for the information! i am thinking that this seat category may not be worth it for the feet... but maybe for the quiet. will definitely report back in if we use it-- won't be until fall, however.
thanks TC for the links to foot rests. the one that hangs on a string is pretty great and lightweight. however, i just tend to pack my soft carry-on pretty full and use that for a foot-rest. works really well... but is so much better for me if your lets are elevated and out.
looking forward to your post-tahiti report, pat&hank.
thanks again, kawh
