United cancelled my flight due to hurricane Sandy. I submitted a refund request to them, and got a reference number. Now they tell me they cannot find the request and to resubmit the info via Fax. You can't get through to the refund department by phone or email, and no one else seems to be able to help. United knows the flight was cancelled because they cancelled it, so where's the money? Should I protest this through my credit card company or give it another try with United. I've already wasted lots of time on this.

I think contesting the charge is a great idea. You paid for a service you did not receive and you should prevail by contesting the charge. Please post back and let us know how it goes.
absolutely go to your cc for help..that's one of the things you pay your fees for. they will figure it out for you and probablu refund your charge pending solution from United.
Unless you have your record locator number and/or your ticket number to give to United, I would definitely contact the credit card company for faster service!
Thanks. I have protested it to the cc company who will take it up with United. I'll keep you posted.
Since United is having horrible customer service, go to your credit card company.
