After having spent just five days in Laos traveling from Vientiane to Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang, I highly recommend that you put Laos on your travel list.
An inexpensive beautiful country with charming people and great food. Getting there from Bangkok is easy and if you have the experiences that we did you just might not want to leave.

From your other postings, you seem to have a lot of good info about Laos. Have you considered making a posting with all of your info.
I think it would be very helpful as not much local info seems to be available. I would have definitely found it helpful during my visit in June and I am sure others will too
Kuang Si Falls is definitely worth a visit for a look and a swim. We went elephant riding and kayaking one day. Depends on how old you are I suspect. (We are in our 60s and 70s.) If you go to the Buddha cave make sure you go by boat. A lot of the drivers will take you there by land. The trip on the Mekong and the walk around the whisky village was better than the actual cave IMO.
Also have a pineapple for me!

DMB I have lived in Lao for a long time now. Rather than make a blanket post, I prefer to answer queries. Every poster has a different question and different thinks they would like to see and do.
