Hi Pete,
We had a fabulous trip. Beyond fabulous. I'll try and get a trip report done fairly soon, but wanted to let you know I'd go again, tomorrow, if I could.
I thought the smaller sing sing at the Paikona village the day before the big sing sing at Mt. Hagen was much more enjoyable. I can't quite put my finger on why--I'm still pondering on that.
I envy you going there next spring.

I notice there is not a lot of info here on PNG.
It's an old play ground of mine.
Any one thinking of doing PNG may be interested in the following.
Air New Guinea fly into Port Moresby just about every day from Cairns in North Queensland.
Once in Moresby you can connect with commuters that regularly fly to just about any of the provinces you want to go. There are 19 provinces in PNG. There are 600 Islands and approximately 800 different languages spoken among the Islands and mainland. The mainland is cut in two by the Owen Stanley Ranges which rise up to approx 12000 feet above sea level. New Guinea is just 160 kms North of the Australian Mainland. Some of the more Northern Australian Islands are just a few meters from Papua New Guinea Islands. Islands like Sabai, Murray, Yorke and so on. The Papuans row long boats to Australia several times a week to trade their wares. Passports are not required , they just come and go as they please. PNG or New Guinea is world famous for spectacular scenery with it’s rainforests, it’s magnificent beaches and of course some of the most remote and amazing diving and snorkelling in the world. I have spent much time in New Guinea and highly recommend the destination for people looking for outdoors and natural echo experiences.
