We will have 14 nights in Japan not including the day we arrive and are trying to figure out how to plan it. We will be flying in after being in Seoul so we are flexible of our entry point. We depart Tokyo for our flight back to the US. We know we will spend a few days in Tokyo, Kyoto and then not sure. We are not interested in going to many museums. We love the outdoors, day hikes. scenery, shopping, eating etc...
What are some suggestions of must sees while we are there? We are going in October.
Japan - 14 nights, what would you do?

If you haven't already seen it, check out japan-guide.com - there's a wealth of information there.
And you might look through recent postings on this board - quite a few people are currently planning their time in Japan and have gotten a lot of very informative responses. Select "asia forums" and then, in the "view by country" button, select Japan.
There are quite a few places that can fly from/to Korea, so it is difficult to advise on where to start.
