We leave Atlanta Hartsfield and thirteen hours later we are touching down in “The Land Of The Rising Sun”.
It is about 4pm in the afternoon as we board a train from Narita Airport headed to the outskirts of Tokyo. An hour and a half later we exit at Jimbocho Station. After circling the block, only one time, we end up at Sakura Hotel Jimbocho.
For about US$50 per night per person including breakfast, we check into a dorm-style room with shared bath. An inexpensive way to stay in the heart of Tokyo.
Back at Jimbocho Station, we are off to visit the world busiest railroad station, with 3.6 million passengers a day, Shinjuku. Outside the station reminds us of New York City with bustling sidewalks surrounded with tall buildings and flashing neon lights.
After descending about thirty feet below ground, we are brought a set of damp towels and take in what is for us a unique atmosphere. With only a Japanese menu, it's point and smile as we order.
At least there is a picture of beer and gyoza. Dinner is served.

The Mt Fuji part will come soon. If you read any of my other postings on trips I have taken you will discover that I put time and effort into writing them. Therefore, it is not a rushed process for me.
However, if you have questions about Mt Fuji, China, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos or any other countries or places in the world, I can refer you to some travel experts here that can answer all of your questions.

DMB, well if you can't or won't answer my questions who here on this site should I ask questions of for Japan trip information? Your answer sounds a little suspicious or put off. Excuse my trepidation but I have been roughed up in here before and do not want a return trip to the woodshed. I was hoping you would share your knowledge of your Japan trip with us who have never been but are contemplating a future trip.

If you read any of my other posts about my recent travel around Asia, you would get a sense of who the "travel experts" are on this part of the world.
Unfortunately, I have been traveling and I am behind in putting together my pictures and videos which are a big part of sharing my traveling experiences.
Some basic info:
Japan is expensive. Average about US$150 per night for a hotel in Tokyo.
Various ways to see or hike Mt Fuji (Jul01-Aug31). Two day passes from Tokyo are popular about US$75. Would do 3 day pass for about US$10 more. Passes include RT train ride.
