Sounds like a cool way to see the area but...I think it would very hot and dusty. The exhaust of some of those buses and trucks I would not want in my lungs. A lot of the secondary roads are not paved. I would hate to see the "local" medical care if you fell off or had an accident.

while parts would be beautiful on the bike, i think much of it would be ghastly and uncomfortable and depending on the month extremely hot

it would be february-march and the trip would be Bharatpur-Jaipur-Pushkar-Jodhpur-Ranakput-Kumbhalgarg-Udaipur-Chittorgarh-Bijaipur-Ranthamhore-Bharatpur...
so it would be south and east Rajasthan.

it is of course a trip for which motorcycle experience is required... it is also done with protective clothing... i know accidents are always possible...

trips are about 200km/day, with 1 day some 290km to cover. there are also rest-days in the main cities.

info on the weather, temperature and rainfall, is of interest to me, especially for the biking clothes to bring with (winter or summer clothing, rainprotection)...

People who ride motorbikes on long journeys are not worried about dusty roads. I know a middle aged couple who ride their motorcycle cross country in the US regularly---almost all year---in cold, sometimes snowy conditions. They travel VERY light also.

baldrick---check weatherbase.com for weather conditions. In feb- march, the weather should be perfect in Rajasthan. Rainfall should be negligible ---Rajasthan is dry and western Rajasthan borders the only desert In India---'Thar' desert.

You're right. Dusty roads are not my concern. The bikes are Royal Enfield Bullets 500cc. Their looks are 1940'tish, but the bikes are recent. The trip goes at a leisurely speed.
It sounded like a great way to see and take in the country. kmkrnn, I will watch out for them fuming exhaust pipes!

India on a motorbike? I'll pass. Road accidents are frequent due to virtually everyone and everything being allowed on the roads. If you decide to do it, i hope you'll post a travel report after your bones stop trembling.
