Hi, we are planning a trip to KL... does any have any recommendations on hotels there? Our budget for accommodation is below US$50 a day. Thanks!

trip report to tajmahal agra india

Enjoyed the old Cathay Hotel in the old part of Panang. Cost was less than $40.00 a night last Jan.Easy to walk down town from there. Across the street is an old Chinese merchant's home that is interesting to tour. A museum right around the corner. This is not near the beach, but it is easy to catch taxis wherever you want to go Many hawker's stands where food is very inexpensive. Enjoyed Penang!
Stayed in City Villa hotel right next to Chow Kit market last year - we were on a v tight bugdet but all the hostels in the city seemed to be minging so splashed out a whole £15 I seem to remember on a clean spacious safe aircon room - nice people too.
US$50 could get you a 4 star hotel these days. Stay at the Concorde Hotel(home of Hard Rock cafe) at Jalan Sultan Ismail or Mutiara hotel down the road. Check out asiatravel.com for good deals.
