We're planning a trip to Vietnam/Cambodia in August. Does anyone have suggestions for good rental cars w/drivers for Hue, HoiAn and Hanoi? Thank you.

Hi there,
I have been in Hanoi, and knew that, you will not need a car rental and driver here, the best transfer is taxi, not too expensive.Although, almost the travel places around Hanoi in walking distance, would be very nice to walk and visit the old city.
Same in Hue and Hoian. A bicycle in Hoian is a good deal.
You can always get a driver from the hotel to take you between hur and hoi an.
I agre that you don't need a car and driver while visiting these cities. Airport transfers via taxi and very easy. For out of town day trips, your hotel or a nearby travel agency can arrange for you.
You do not need a car in Hanoi or Hoi An. From Hue to Hoi An, however, it is great if you choose private car. Hue airport is closed from MArch to November for renovation. With car, you can go over Hai Van Pass, very scenic route that bus dont go.
lrmenmantigh, what do you mean by "Hue airport is closed from MArch to November for renovation"? We bought tickets to fly into Hue from HCM in March. Didn't hear anything about airport closing.
Could u clarify? Thanks
@ JC98
It is closed from 3/20/2013 to 11/20/2013. If you booked flights early March, you will be fine.
Wow, our flight barely made it. We're coming there on 3/19, the day before it's closed. How can they just completely close a big airport like that? No wonder my husband wasn't able to find flights out from Hue to Hanoi after that. It was showing up as available before.
Do you have the official website that announces this? Hope there won't be a problem for our flight going on the last day.
Thanks for the info.
Taxis in Hanoi are easy to find and very cheap, but walking was the best way to get around. We arranged several day tours through our hotels and all were excellent. We emailed the hotels in advance to arrange them. In HCMC we had tours of the tunnels and the Mekong Delta, in Hoi An we toured the temples, and did some day trips from Hanoi.
