Hello,
My fiance and I are planning to go to Thailand for our honeymoon in November. We are thinking of flying into Bangkok, staying there for 2 nights, heading up north for 3 nights, then going down to the islands so a couple nights. We arent yet set on an itinerary though.
Does anyone have any good hotel recommendations? We are looking for something nicer while we are on the islands and maybe something more rugged when up north.
Any advice or suggestions (on hotels or Thailand in general) would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Thailand Honeymoon

Hello, Vietnam
- 25 Is it worth switching hotels in Tokyo?

For Bangkok, I always recommend choosing hotel on the river. The Peninsula is probably the most popular honeymoon hotel, but there are less expensive options.
For beach, I assume you are looking at the Andaman Sea side - Phuket, PhiPhi, Krabi, Koh Lak, Koh, Lanta, etc. Tell us a bit more about what you are looking for in terms of beach - quiet, lively, a full-service resort or a place where there are bars and restaurants a stroll away?
And where do you plan to go in northern Thailand and what do you want to do there?
How much total time do you have on the ground in Thailand? What is your hotel budget per night?
Also, browse a local booking website like www.sawdee.com
in addition to the penn, i like the anantara riverside, the shangri-la, and the chatrium riverside...
in town i love the plaza anthanee (sheraton chain), 4 seasons, conrad, marriott sukhumvit park, majestic grande, marriott courtyard, renaissance (my choice for next november), and many others..
in krabi the amari vogue is fantastic, the sheraton is good.
in khao lak i love the jw marriott...
hua hin is an alternative with no flight.. the hyatt is fantastic, so is the intercontinental.
if you only have a week, i would stick to bkk and the beach
