We're making last minute travel plans to Ubud over the New Year weekend and our favorite place, The Maya Ubud, is booked as are most others. I'm looking at two places that sound pretty similar, Puri Sunia and Kenanga Boutique Hotel.
If anyone is familiar with either, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Restaurant recommendations also welcome!

Puri Sunia is relatively new and a pretty good choice.
enjoy Ubud
I think you could also consider something like Kupu Kupu Barong or the Alila Ubud.
If you must stay in town Komaneka Bisma is excellent.
Alternatively, you could consider a gorgeous, private luxury villa and have a chef prepare what you want, how and when you want it! I know of a great one!
I'm not familar with either of the resorts you mention. They both look lovely on their websites, but I couldn't find Sunia's location. It appears that both are somewhat smaller and more "boutique-y" than the Maya.
I would agree with jon that the alila or Kupu-Kupu are more like the Maya. Also the Chedi Club and, in town, the Uma Ubud.
Wherever you end up be sure to check what's on at the resort on New Year's eve. Some resorts make their inhouse celebrations mandatory and they can be quite pricy.
Thanks for your help. I've tried the other places you mention -- either fully booked, or only the priciest rooms are still left. My two choices are both quite small (19 and 15 rooms) and seem pretty similar. The Kenanga appears to be closer to Ubud than the Puri Sunia and apparently there is a little village within walking distance.
Jon, do you have a website to recommend for villa rentals? There are 5 in our group.
Bali Home Paradise / Bali Villas is a good place to start for villa rentals. http://balihomeparadise.com/
Because of it's size the Hyatt in Sanur might have rooms. But it sure is a big property. The Komenika on Monkey Forest Road, not the one dowbtowb, is lovely and we enjoyed it but it could well be full but try.
Thanks all -- I found a villa through Marmot's link that will accommodate the 5 of us. It will have more space, at the same price, as the two hotels I found. Can't cancel it, and I've never done a villa stay before, but it may be time to try something new.
Komenika on Monkey Forest is full (actually, they all are) and we really want Ubud, although some time I'd like to go back to the Hyatt in Sanur...we stayed there about 24 years ago on our first Bali trip. It was magical!
hallo
Greetings, Ubud is a village located in the foothills of the charming gentle sloping island offers beautiful countryside, terraced rice fields and the river flowing. Ubud village and surrounding hamlets attract those who appreciate a slower pace of activity and interest in creative lifestyle filled with arts, crafts dance, and music. It's beautiful really well for holiday companions
