We are planning our first trip to Fiji- hopefully flying business class. I understand Air Pacific offers non-stop flights from LAX to NAN (Nadi, Fiji), although, I've heard Air Pacific planes are not so nice, tired and worn down?? Are there any other choices getting to Fiji from the US? (We will actually begin our trip from DFW) If I'm going to be on a 10+ hr. flight I want it to be as pleasant as possible. I'd appreciate your thoughts, and if you have other suggestions. I could really use your help. Thank you.

I would discount all of the American Airlines in that equasion which would leave only a few airlines after that. Look at Air Pacific which is a Fijian airline with 40 something % ownership by Qantas. I am not sure if they go into NAN but if you check their website I am sure that it will tell you. The other airlines that go there are not direct flights i.e. Hawaiin Airlines, Air NZ etc.
Yep they do - website is http://www.airpacific.com/
Air Pacific Passenger Reviews and Air Pacific Customer opinions about Air Pacific product and Air Pacific service standards.www.airlinequality.com/Forum/pacific.htm
Might consider other alternatives...
Qunatas does HNL to NAN I think in the past have done DFW HNL with a couple of nights at Hilton Hawaiian Village each way to break up the journey for way less jet lag worked well.

Thanks all. Looks like Air Pacific is the only option for non-stop LAX - NAN.
Katie there are plenty of good reviews for Air Pacific. I tried the link given by Qvadis but all I got was an error message. However I did look under airlines in fodors and there are plenty of good reports and I have only heard good reports about the airline.
It does seem to be the only one that flies non stop Lax - Nan and I don't think that Qantas ( correct spelling) flies from HNL to NAN anyway.
Bula Katie
I fly Air Pacific from Brisbane to Nadi 2 to 4 times a year (only economy class though) and the service is always excellent.

I recently flew from Sydney to Nadi (Sept 2011) in business class on Air Pacific. I have no hesitation recommending them. Yes the plane was not as whizz bang as the brand new planes but there was nothing wrong with it. It was not shabby or old looking. The seats were the old style business/first class however I find them more comfortable than the angled flat beds that are promoted on so many airlines as 'flat beds' when they are not. The service was fabulous, the food was fine (I am not a bit lover of super fancy stuff). I would not hesitate to use them again in business class and I would happily travel 10 hours with them. I'd do it for the non stop flight. (I also posted to this in the other place you asked it)
Tip... if you're staying on Denaru Island, just get a cab to your hotel. Didn't cost much, I think $15 fijian from memory. Our travel agent booked a regular pick up for us and we were off the plane in minutes, through customs and had our bags within 5 minutes. We had to wait half an hour for other passengers to catch up. The business class service on arrival is fabulous. Staff take your bags off the carousel for you and have them ready and waiting.
I've been to Fiji on Air Pacific many times for holidays. I prefer to travel with Air Pacific because they show pride to the customers and really care about you. As you read their On Board magazine, look up and there are the same friendly faces.
We love Fiji - the Fijian people really know how to make your holiday special. Sadly, for them, they're about 75 years behind the rest of the world. They work in Fiji time. It's precious.
I would never pick up a random Taxi in Fiji. Let the Hotel select your Taxi or book a transfer. As MissGreen says "our travel agent booked a regular pick up". The roads are extremely rough with just a bit of tar seal. The cars are older. Not all Taxi's are in good condition. Often they have serious faults. One time our taxi had broken suspension, bad or no brakes; it was frightening as we hit bumps; the car almost rolled over even though the driver had slowed.
Tip - never be impatient in Fiji. They know you're waiting. You'll get the beer, ice cream or whatever at Fiji time. When you arrive home YOU'LL BE WORKING at Fiji time as well.
