Hi,
We are mid 30's professionals that are about to tie the knot. I'm in charge of the honeymoon and need help. We were planning on the southern island of New Zealand and decided on something warmer. We want something tropical, but don't want to sit on a beach and read. My favorite girl has become quite the "adventurer" and loves to mix it up. Kayakin', snorkelin', whitewater raftin' ,hiking, zip-linin', swimming in waterfalls, you name it, she's up for it. I love all of the above, but my passion is surfing, so if there's surf, even better. We have a budget of $5000 and only want to spend a couple of nights in a really nice place, other than that, we can go low budget if we need to. My Bachelor party is in Costa Rica, so that's out. Some possibilities Kauai, Samoa, Bali, ect..... Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Tropical North Queensland, with access to the Great Barrier Reef, the World Heritage listed Daintree Rain Forest and plenty of other outdoor activities, would be an option. Plenty of threads to peruse on this forum if you use the search box above.
Alternatively Bali is worth looking at. Fascinating culture, nice people, good food. You can do a couple of nights in an upmarket resort, and the rest in inexpensive but decent accommodation starting around $30.
I can't vouch for the active stuff, but you can do white-water rafting and hiking out of Ubud, the island's cultural capital. And though we didn't go there, I was told that the Gili Islands are good for the beach and snorkeling stuff. Check the Asia forum.
Samoa also matches your criteria. Check out Aggie Greys at www.aggiegreys.com and www.surfsamoa.com Of all the countries in the Pacific, Samoa is definitely the real deal with its culture closest to what you would expect.
