As many of you will know, Cairns will be subject to a spectacular solar eclipse. How many will be making the trip to witness this "once in a life time event".

Am in Cairns right now. What I have heard is that the first 45 minutes will not be visible from the Esplanade in Cairns. You need to get up further north, many people are on boats and ships. I am staying right here, because the local buses don't start running that early, and what I see is what I will see.
Bruce, thank you for this site. My class - and some others I shared the website with - found it really easy to understand what was going to happen. We made sure the children wore the special glasses to view the eclipse. My 7 - 9 year olds were very excited, especially when I had the eclipse livestreaming on the dataprojector while they were working!
