We are taking a seven night cruise through Tahiti and French Polynesia in spring 2013. If I am going to go all the way over there, I want to make it a two week trip. Any ideas on what to add? Hawaii? New Zealand? Plan to get to Tahiti 2 days ahead of cruise, so will have 5 days to play elsewhere.

New Zealand is amazing, great if you like hiking and the outdoors, but I'm not sure it's worth it for 5 days, you need a couple of weeks minimum. If you've never been to Hawaii, that probably makes more sense. Which cruise line are you going on?? We are going on a 10 night Paul Gauguin Tahiti & FP in June 2013. Do you know about the website cruise critic, it's another great site devoted to cruising!
Hi Miki,
With only 5 days you can't do NZ justice; Hawaii would be a possibility on your way back.
Sharig - you are going to have a WONDERFUL time on the Paul Gauguin!
