My heart and sympathy goes out to the people of Queensland facing flood devastation again in 2 years. I just hope it does not become as bad for you as in 2011. I feel a particular 'bond' with the floods in Queensland as my sister lost most of her possessions which were in storage in the 2011 floods just out of Brisbane, and I saw first hand the destruction when I flew over to help her sort through and discard her lifetime acquisitions.
To those of you who have lost homes, land and businesses through the terrible fires I also send my heartfelt sympathy. Your losses will be just as devastating as those in Queensland.
Wild weather again

The rain and wind has been incessant. My DH was up around 2am just checking everything that he had tied down/put away outside.
You just can't believe the poor residents of Grantham are going through this again. Not only Grantham of course, but gee it has to be horrendous to be living this again.
Yesterday was the anniversary of the 1974 Australia Day floods (39 years).
I really just feel so sorry and das for all affected.
The bloody insurance companies better behave themselves this time. The water fell from the sky - end of story.
Just heard that The Shack at Murwillumbah may be inundated. It's flowing through the garage and the king tide is still 4 hours away. The house is 3 steps higher than the garage so it's not looking good. My DH is going to head back down to try and get some of the furniture up.
Stay safe Stormbird and family!
yes, keep safe, stormbird. Fingers crossed for The Shack. Tell DH not to do anything silly - life is more precious than belongings. Grab the photos and irreplaceable documents first.
I agree, the insurance companies had better pull finger this time. Their response in 2011 was disgusting to say the very least.
