Hello, we (4 adults in total) will be spending a week in New Brunswick in July and would love to rent a cottage at Parlee Beach where my husband spent many summers as a child. I'm wondering if anybody has had any recent experience/advice they'd like to share,or any cottages in particular to recommend?

I too spent many summers, or a least a couple opf days a week all summer long,at my Aunt Gracie's cottage there. I'm looking forward to how this thread develops. Old memories.
I know Gould's is gone, curious about The
Anchor. checked Google Streetview a while ago and saw there's still a lobster pound near the bridge at the west end of Shediac.

Sorry to see Gould's is gone(although their clam strips weren't the greatest). Can't remember the name of the bakery in Pointe du Chene-Greens or Greeno's maybe? You could smell the baking a block away! My husband and his siblings took the train from Winnipeg and spent part of the summer there with their grand parents for several years.
We're planning to be there for at least part of the Shediac lobster festival.

We have a cottage there and know some people that rent out places. If you are interested send me a private message and I get some names for you.
The bakery Grenious closed a few years ago. Goulds is also gone.
Shediac is much bigger than it was but still has that homey feel to it.

Take a look at <a href="http://shediac.info">http://www.shediac.info</a> for information on Shediac or <a href="http://shediac.org">http://www.shediac.org</a> for a listing of cottages in the area. There are also a lot of bed and breakfasts and a few motels as well. Typically, you need to book early for the cottages.
For food I love the fried clam's at Chez Leo's which is at Shediac Bridge, about 6 km north of the Canadian Tire.
