we plan to visit churchill next july for 2-3 days after spending 7 days in banff/jasper.
Have been in touch with some lodges and will do the beluga whales tour. Is there any tour of polar bears during that period. Was told that there is a possibility of seeing them at seal river.
is it worthwhile going all the way for Beluga whales? unfortunately my window is july/early august.
churchill in july

Plan on spending a small fortune for a 60 minute helicopter tour. http://www.lazybearlodge.com/polar-bear-tours/helicopter-tours.php
Are you flying in from Winnipeg or can you tolerate a 32 hour train ride?
I've been to Churchill twice by train. I'll never go again.
Hi there, I visited Churchill in August and spotted a polar bear on the rocks whilst out on a beluga whale watching boat! I wrote about it on my blog here. There is the option of going on a tundra buggy tour for increased chances of seeing bears as well. It's definitely worth it and I would advise kayaking with the belugas as you can actually hear them breathing and they come right up to you...
