I will be heading to Nova Scotia/New Brunswick and PEI in June. I have a two day conference to attend in Halifax so won't have too much time those days to see anything but plan on staying a couple extra days but will be a busy schedule! I've never been out East before so trying to plan the best I can!
Sunday afternoon
- tour Halifax
- stay in Halifax, hotel already booked
Monday
- rent a car from Halifax airport estimate around 9am and drive to Moncton
- visit Magnetic Hill and Hopewell Rocks
- either stay in Moncton or take Ferry to PEI later that day?
(this is what I'm undecided about with time, I think would be better to drive to PEI that evening to be there first thing on Tuesday morning to start my day... )
If I stay in Moncton I'm looking at the Magnetic Hill Winery/B&B
Tuesday
- tour PEI
- stay in PEI (looking at the Kindred Spirits B&B in Cavendish) - was thinking of doing a tour more in the Charlottetown/east side of the island then doing Cavendish area in the afternoon and staying there
Wednesday
- drive back from PEI via the bridge to Halifax, flight out at 4:45pm
Does this seem like a reasonable agenda for a cram packed few days?! I'm young and traveling on my own so I don't mind the driving/busy schedule just trying to decide mainly if I should stay in Moncton or PEI on the Monday evening.

Monday - take bridge to PEI
Tuesday - do Summerside/Cavendish area in the morning, then head down to Wood Island area via Charlottetown to be closer to take Ferry in the morning
Wednesday - take ferry back to Nova Scotia
I think that is more doable I think I might have just helped myself realizing the ferry schedule hehe! But if anyone has suggestions please let me know
Hi Traveller, You have already corrected your own mistakes from the first post. If I understand your schedule you will not be arriving on the Island until Monday night and you will be leaving Wednesday morning. So you essentially have one day on the island and although it is a small island that is not enough. Summerside, boring. I know most people tell you to go to Cavendish but you can go up through Ebenezer / New Glasgow road then head up the shore at Brackley Beach / Stanhope then head down to Charlottetown, have a little walking tour of downtown. Treat yourself to a meal at the Olde Triangle then you can drive to wood islands. Mac
