Hello,
We, a family of 2 adults and 2 young kids, will be in Edmonton for 3 nights from mid June and want to stay downtown. I have narrowed it both to these two hotels, and can't decide between them. The price is about the same, but with Coast we get a two bedroom apartment (versus 2 connecting rooms at the Matrix). The Coast has a pool but the Matrix's reviews are quite a bit better though...
Is one of these hotels better located in terms of family friendly restaurants? Are there any other factors which would make one of these hotels better for a family with young kids?
We will be hiring a car at the airport so we need parking too.
Thank you all!
Kind regards
Karen

hi karen, while i don't know the coast in edmonton, i am familiar w/ their hotels in victoria, vancouver and seattle. i use the coast plaza in vancouver mainly which is more apartment like. while the rooms are not the slickest they are well kept and the staff is overwhelmingly friendly and accommodating. the hotel is always full of families, kids, high school sports teams and dogs!
cheers

Matrix is the "newer" of the two hotels..located three blocks away from the Legislative grounds which has nice outdoor wading pools if you are here in the summer and a good tour of the Legislature building...if you want to take in such tours. Both hotels have parking and probably equal access to restaurants. Matrix caters more to the business traveller.
