The only rail service to Montreal from the US is Amtrak`s Adirondack, departing from New York.
Phase I of a feasibility study was completed in 2003 regarding a high speed rail link between Boston and Montreal, which concluded: Sufficient potential ridership and fare revenue exists to warrant the implementation of Phase II of the Study for evaluation of the operating and capital costs, and associated benefits, of implementing a high-speed rail service between Boston and Montreal.
To my knowledge, phase II has not been implemented.
I am afraid that whoever told you about Boston Montreal rail service is either lost in the 1970s or has returned from a utopian future.
thanks Ron. since i am stuck in the 70's, i will plan on taking the train.
i remain disappointed yet amused.
