Hi folks,
We'll have two to three nights to explore the area in September. Just wondering which location would make the best base to tour from. I'm leaning toward Trinity but would love your feedback. Also, any recommendations for accommodations would be appreciated. I have been looking at the Artisan Inn in Trinity, Captain Blackmore's in Port Union or Fisher's Loft in Port Rexton. Hard to choose but we'd love to be able to walk in and around the village wherever we stay. Many thanks for any input!
Where to stay-Trinity, Port Rexton or Port Union?

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Captain Blackmore's and thought the location roughly between Trinity and Buena Vista was very convenient. Having said that, there really isn't a town to wonder around at night. It's kind of out by itself.

I have stayed in the area twice. The first time in town at an establishment which I don't think is in business any more (with good reason). The second time was at the Fisher's Loft in Port Rexton.
The Fisher's Loft is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful location and I would stay there again if in the area. Having said that, you might be happier in Trinity itself as it is nice to stroll around the village and there are plenty of things to see and do there. I don't know if the Rising Tide theatre will still be going in September, but if so you should take in one of their performances.
While in the area, don't miss a visit to New Bonaventure and the film set of Random Passage. It is fascinating. While there, take a boat tour with Rugged Beauty tours which visits a number of the abandoned outports in the area. It was one of the best boat tours I have taken anywhere in Newfoundland.
Thanks so much for your replies. Yes, we are planning the boat tour for sure and hopefully the theatre will still be running then. The area sounds fascinating. Thanks again!
