Great 7 days at the Fairmont Southhampton with husband and 11 year old son! Hotel was very nice..we had adjoining rooms on the 4th floor...AMAZING ocean views. Good arcade and Ping Pong on the lower level. Lots of kids. Beware of the fully stocked snack/candy/beverage fridge. In general, very expensive...we went to a grocery store in Hamilton to stock up on waters and snacks which saved us quite a bit of cash. BEAUTIFUL private beach...I'll be dreaming of the crystal clear water filled with Parrotfish, Angelfish, Groupers and even an octupus....short walk to Horseshoe Bay Beach which had some fun waves.
Trip highlights include helmet diving with Greg Hartley, dinner at Hog Penny in Hamilton during the World Cup Soccer Final, the piano player at Jasmine (at the Southhampton) and all the ferry rides.
Highly recommend Bermuda for a vacation...just be prepared to spend a lot of moolah.

Glad you had a great time!
Welcome home and thanks for the report. Glad you had a good time.
While Bermuda is expensive, there are ways to make it a bit less so. Rentals are tax exempt and frequently have smaller service charges. Check out www.bermudarentals.com or www.bermudagetaway.com for listings. There are also some guest houses which offer excellent accomodation less expensively (Salt Kettle, Granaway).
