My husband and I are planning a 2 week trip at the end of April. There are so many islands to choose from we are having a hard time. Most recently we were looking at Barbuda.
There are a few things we are looking for in this trip:
1. Scuba Diving/ Snorkeling
2. Quiet white sand beaches
3. Fair amount of seclusion
4. An island that is rich in Caribbean culture (not overly Americanized for tourists)
5. Fits within our budget : $5000 for 2 weeks (this would be for airfare and lodging)
We appreciate any help you can throw our way.
Help pick our islands!

Look at St. John (USVI's) or Virgin Gorda (BVI's) - both have everything you are seeking.
FYI - Barbuda is very secluded - while there's miles and miles of uncrowded beaches there's not much to do on the island except sit on the beach (not that there's anything wrong with that). There's no "culture" to speak of and you can see all the points of interest on the island and
"do" everything there is to "do" in less than 6 hours. Go here only if you truly want to "get away from it all".
RoamsAround: Thank you so much for your input. I knew Barbuda was secluded, but wasn't sure to what extent.
April is high season. Not knowing your air cost which coukd be $500/person you really do not have a lot to choose from, in my opinion. Probally Tortola has the best rates for hotels but snorkeling is accomplished on day trips for $75+/- for 5-6 hours and it is jus o.k but better than St. Thomas by far.
