La Concha Resort, San Juan room rate questions

I see there is a rate offered that includes breakfasts. Further I have read that the food prices are extremely high. So a couple of questions: 1) anyone have experience paying the higher room tariff that includes breakfast and is it worth it? 2) Are there nearby restaurants that might offer a break from the high prices of the hotel dining rooms?
Any other comments on recent travel to this hotel would be appreciated.
