I've read a few reviews re Mariott @ Curacao that many chairs under the cabanas are "reserved" in the wee hours of the morning and then not used until much later. My question is, for those who have been there, are there chairs available at all? We'll bring our own portable beach umbrella so we won't have to worry about shade, but will there be any chairs available at all? Thanks. P. S. Planning early December trip (between Thanksgiving and Xmas -- not typically as busy as the actual holidays.)

WE have been here twice. I dont think you will have to worry, there are a lot of chairs on a fairly big expanse of beach. I did see people put towels on a chair to "reserve" it but I dont think it was a big problem at all.

You are not going not have a problem getting loungers. It's a great place. Enjoy!
Getting the tents on the beach can be difficult. We got chairs with umbrellas by the pool each morning around 8:30. Chairs without an umbrella are easy to find (good idea; perhaps we'll bring our own umbrella next time).
