Looking for a quick 3 day trip to the Bahamas or somewhere in the Caribbean. We would be leaving July 13 and retunring on July 16. Will be flying out of Raleigh, NC or Roanoke, VA. I know we can get to Freeport on a non-stop flight from Raleigh which is appealing.
I'd like to stay at a decent hotel, maybe all inclusive. However, I'd really like to try some local cusine, but am unsure about the best way to do that. Just book a hotel, and then figure out good places to eat after you get there? How do you travel from the hotel to restaurants? Any tips or suggestions?Best way to get the best deal? Wait until the last minute? Looking to spend around 12-1300 if all -inclusive.
Any help you can give me would be great.

If you are planning to "dine around" then do as most people do, book your hotel and then either rent a car or use taxis to travel around to the restaurants and win exploring the island. (Note: taxi fares can mount up so you may find it more economical to rent a car).
Also, depending on which resort you choose there may be a few local restaurants within walking distance BUT no matter where you stay you'll need transportation if you want the maximum number of restaurant choices as there are restaurants all over the island.
Was hoping to find someplace that had restaurants within walking distance, but will check into a rental.
After doing some thinking, the all-inclusive sounds good, from the perspective of free drinks. I'm not going to party the whole time, but don't want to worry about paying $10 for a beer or a drink.
However, I've heard the food at all-inclusives isn't great. I guess we could always do an all-inclusive and eat some off premises.
Are there places within walking distance of restaurants in Lucaya, Cable Bay, or Freeport?
