Hello,
My boyfriend and I are planning a last minute getaway in July. We want to go sailing in Trinidad and Tobago and wanted to know if any of you had any recommendations on boats and sailing companies. We would want to go for around a week. We do not know how to sail so would need a skipper.
Thank you!
Steph

I assume you are not interested in much of the landscapes of Trinidad for 50% of the island is industrial. That is not the case though for Tobago. Your budget really guides your selection of boats with and without Captains. The Moorings is very near the top class with 35-60 ft. sail and cats and charge daily rates but a minimun I recall of 4 days/5 nights. I know they have boats available in Belize, the Grenadines, the US and BVI;s and likely Tobago. We went with a Captain and cook, usually a couple and fully provisioned twiceand it was quite lovely with no weather issues. If you go in July I would stay south of the Barbados/St.Vincent to avoid getting caught in a tropical depression or hurricane (June-Nov)
I only discovered your question a moment ago.
Sailing in or around Tobago or from Tobago to the Grenadines is best done with Markus of “Picante”. You can reach him under Mobil: 1-868-620-4750, sybilletobago@yahoo.com
He does trips to the Grenadines as well and his prices are very completive compared the large charter companies within the Caribbean.
Hope, you get this message in time for your trip!
Good luck!
