We will be in St. Martin in the middle of June and have heard on these boards and elsewhere that snorkeling there is not primo. So what about Saba or Statia? I looked on Fodor's and it seems like you can snorkle on scuba trips, but how good is it? Anyone know? Worth the day trip? So curious to check out neighboring islands.
Thanks,
Annie

Saba is a total gem of an island.....once on it - you can hike - climb mt scenery, can't say how cool this island is.....I don't know about snorkeling but understand it's a GREAT place to go scuba diving....the waters around it tend to be quite rough - consistently - as it's a volcano that shoots pretty much straight up. I went to Statia once but didn't snorkel here either - I found Statia to be more industrial......on St. Martin you may try to take a snorkel trip......
Here's an answer from yesterday's post.
