My husband and I are thinking about taking our daughter and her friends to an island after their high school graduation. We have traveled to The Turks, Antigua, Anguilla, Jamaica and St. Lucia in the past. Have always stayed in resorts and are thinking about getting a villa. Are these typically a safe place to stay? Also, we are thinking about Barbados, any ideas for there?

hi flit, i've stayed in 2 different villas on provo. traveled once with a girl friend and once with same friend, her mom and daughter. we all felt completely safe in the villas. there are some great houses on provo. along grace bay, on long bay beach and around chalk sound, silly cay, sopadilla, and taylor. and off the water in the leeward marina area.
depending on your price range you could look at 6 really nice villas near turtle cove marina and smith bay reef snorkeling at wwww.northshorevilla.com
sandstone and turtle beach looked really nice when we were snorkeling there. paprika and tamarind were not finished but are out of my price range anyway. slightly off beach are gumbo and limbo for much less. i stayed in one of the ocean point villas and was very pleased with everything but like grace bay location better.
also look at www.provo.net under villas for several of the rental agencies.
if you can tell me a price range and your needs, i could probably suggest some specific places to look at.
i haven't been to barbados yet, either, so will be curious to read any replies about houses there too.
Hi Flit,
Antigua has some really beautiful vacation villas. You can choose from beach front properties, properties with ocean views, waterfront properties and properties with pools. Antigua is a pretty safe place to stay. I know of quite a number of people who stayed at a villa in Antigua with no issues when it comes to their safety. If you tell me when you plan on travelling, how many nights and how many people would be in your party I can see how best i can help you. You can also check out www.islandbreezevillas.com to check out some villas and what services come with the rentals.
