My husband and I are looking to go to the Caribbean to celebrate my 37th and our 7 year wedding anniversary. We are looking for hot weather, warm waters, good food and a island that has some night life. We don't want full on spring break, but we're not planning to be in bed by 8pm either! Looking for an oceanfront property in a luxury hotel with a spa. Our budget is around $4000 for 6 days including airfare from SFO. We'd like to travel between 3/20 and 4/2. Our top choices are Turks and Caicos (but a bit too expensive maybe?), Bahamas (which island? and I hear the water/weather is cool in March?), Barbados (is it worth the extra flight time?) and Jamaica (but where to stay..outside of Mo Bay?) Any Ideas???!!
Where to go??!!! End of March Caribbean vacation

I take it you've been to Hawaii and Mexico and want something different? I love the Caribbean, but I'm on the East Coast. Airfare is going to chip away at your budget, and I'm not sure how fabulous a time you can have on what's left at a luxury hotel during high season.
Yep, been to the Hawaiian Islands too many times. My hubby refuses to go again. Last trip we took to Cozumel and it was just an ok island so this time were looking to head to the Caribbean. Budget could possibly be stretched to $5k for the right place!
I assume you've been to Cabo, too? And Costa Rica? You're a long way from the Caribbean, and with only six days, one of them is going to be eaten up almost entirely with traveling. Airfares are very high during that time period ( high season) and so are most luxury hotels. Hate to be so negative, but I'd look closer to home and try to plan a Caribbean trip in one of the shoulder season months ( December before Christmas is very nice, for example) or when you have more time to travel from SFO.
IM a self catering traveler whocnever uses a travel agent, but you may want to go to a travel agent, because your dates are US:
Spring break!, Almost everything has been booked ip for months, you're going to be hard pressed to find much, so you might have to settle for leftovers. Another thing too, airfare is going to be hugely expensive.
Spring Break this year is last week of March, first week of April.
So can you change your dates? Even the week after air and hotel drops prices dramatically, and you can get a really nice vacation for your money.
If you can't change your dates, that's why I suggested a travel agent, as they will have some searching to do!
PS any place with a little bit of nightlife will be spring break like. If trying tovavoid the spring break ambience those dates you might have to pick an island that doesn't have much of nightlife anyway, such as TCI, if there's anything left there.
If still interested in that week, get a hold of
Turksandcaicosreservwtions.tc
With yur budget and what you're looking for, they are on island and usually have inventory of what's left for that busy week.
TCI doesn't have the spring break ambience, more of a family ambience.
I know you said resort but if you want some privacy andantigua has some really beautiful, private and self catering villas. Check out www.islandbreezevillas.com for some oceanfront options. Antigua has some night life and offers 365 pristine beaches to choose from. Been to the island twice and i loved it. The rental agency i booked my villa through booked my airport pickup once i got to the island, they booked any excursion or activity, booked my rental car for the week. And they even stocked the refridgerator with items i requested for my arrival. Both times i've had a vacation i'll always remember.
