My sister and I and our elderly father will be on a Celebrity cruise in Athens on 28 October. As we have been to Athens before and our visit will be on a Sunday, we would like to know what alternative place we can visit. I heard that Hydra is doable in a day but cannot find a ferry schedule for that day. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. I have registered for a schedule alert as there is no information on my date as yet.
We got outside of Athens and had a driver take us to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. It was nice to see the scenery and we enjoyed a leisurely lunch before heading back. It made for a very relaxing day and might be something your elderly father would enjoy.
We did the same as patandhank - it was a lovely drive. We mad a couple of stops along the way back and thoroughly enjoyed it. We disembarked in Athens and couldn't check into our hotel until late in the day so it was a great way to spend the time.
Did the same thing but with a tour..50Euros if I remember correctly.. Ask at your hotel desk. It is a very nice excursion and not difficult.
Thanks, I will see what I can find on Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon.Any other suggestions?
